Crazy enough, Dr. Lupo isn’t the only streamer that has been sponsored by a major brand/company. The very well known streamer Tyler “Ninja” Blevins is also sponsored by popular energy drink company, Red Bull. This goes too show the growth of the Esports and streaming industry and how popular users are beginning to earn recognition for streaming all day.
Back in the early 2000’s, Matthew “NadeShoT” Haag became the first professional Call of Duty player to be sponsored by red bull aswell. Streaming on Justin.TV, he was one of the most coveted Call of Duty professional players in the world. He moved from a Call of Duty player to a global empire for content. With the help of being under the OpticGaming brand, he was able to make a name for himself and help create a career through gaming. Most notably, he has partnered with Scooter Braun and Drake too help fund his current Esports organization 100Thieves. With the help of investments and online revenue through subscriptions on Twitch and donations, he is one of the few people who has made a major impact on the community.
But it only gets better, as of 2017 the Counter Strike:Global Offense competitive series signed with the ELEAGUETV which appears on TNT to give fans the ultimate viewing to watching a competitive online game right on their own television. It is crazy because Fornite has also made a massive name for itself and these are just the few examples of how online Battle Royal games have changed the industry of “Esports”
